These 600 VAC UL Class RK5 fuses are time-delayed and nonindicating. They tolerate temporary inrush currents without opening, preventing nuisance blowing during motor and equipment startups. Also called slow-blow Class RK5 fuses, these 200kA IR fuses open to disconnect an electrical circuit when exposed to sustained loads and short circuits. They have no indicator for identifying a blown fuse, so they’re sometimes used with an indicating fuse block or cover.

The time-delay characteristic of these fuses allows the use of lower amp ratings than non-time delay options, which can reduce the size and cost of switches, panels, and the fuses themselves. Additionally, FRS-R fuses provide effective short-circuit protection with high current-limitation, helping safeguard downstream components from damage caused by fault currents. Their combination of economy, safety, and reliability makes FRS-R fuses an excellent choice for industrial and commercial applications where both inrush tolerance and fault protection are critical.
